| 英文： | Hear this, ye old men, and give ear, all ye inhabitants of the land. Hath this been in your days, or even in the days of your fathers? |

| 英文： | Tell ye your children of it, and let your children tell their children, and their children another generation. |

| 中文： | 剪虫剩下的，蝗虫来吃。蝗虫剩下的，蝻子来吃。蝻子剩下的，蚂蚱来吃。 |
| 英文： | That which the palmerworm hath left hath the locust eaten; and that which the locust hath left hath the cankerworm eaten; and that which the cankerworm hath left hath the caterpiller eaten. |

| 中文： | 田荒凉，地悲哀，因为五谷毁坏，新酒乾竭，油也缺乏。 |
| 英文： | The field is wasted, the land mourneth; for the corn is wasted: the new wine is dried up, the oil languisheth. |

| 中文： | 农夫阿，你们要惭愧，修理葡萄园的阿，你们要哀号，因为大麦小麦，与田间的庄稼，都灭绝了。 |
| 英文： | Be ye ashamed, O ye husbandmen; howl, O ye vinedressers, for the wheat and for the barley; because the harvest of the field is perished. |

| 中文： | 葡萄树枯乾，无花果树衰残。石榴树，棕树，苹果树，连田野一切的树木，也都枯乾。众人的喜乐尽都消灭。 |
| 英文： | The vine is dried up, and the fig tree languisheth; the pomegranate tree, the palm tree also, and the apple tree, even all the trees of the field, are withered: because joy is withered away from the sons of men. |

| 中文： | 祭司阿，你们当腰束麻布痛哭。伺候祭坛的阿，你们要哀号。事奉我神的阿，你们要来披上麻布过夜。因为素祭，和奠祭，从你们神的殿中断绝了。 |
| 英文： | Gird yourselves, and lament, ye priests: howl, ye ministers of the altar: come, lie all night in sackcloth, ye ministers of my God: for the meat offering and the drink offering is withholden from the house of your God. |

| 英文： | Sanctify ye a fast, call a solemn assembly, gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land into the house of the LORD your God, and cry unto the LORD. |

| 中文： | 哀哉，耶和华的日子临近了。这日来到，好像毁灭从全能者来到。 |
| 英文： | Alas for the day! for the day of the LORD is at hand, and as a destruction from the Almighty shall it come. |

| 中文： | 粮食不是在我们眼前断绝了吗。欢喜快乐不是从我们神的殿中止息了吗。 |
| 英文： | Is not the meat cut off before our eyes, yea, joy and gladness from the house of our God? |

| 中文： | 谷种在土块下朽烂。仓也荒凉，廪也破坏。因为五谷枯乾了。 |
| 英文： | The seed is rotten under their clods, the garners are laid desolate, the barns are broken down; for the corn is withered. |

| 中文： | 牲畜哀呜，牛群混乱，因为无草。羊群也受了困苦。 |
| 英文： | How do the beasts groan! the herds of cattle are perplexed, because they have no pasture; yea, the flocks of sheep are made desolate. |

| 中文： | 耶和华阿，我向你求告。因为火烧灭旷野的草场，火焰烧尽田野的树木。 |
| 英文： | O LORD, to thee will I cry: for the fire hath devoured the pastures of the wilderness, and the flame hath burned all the trees of the field. |

| 中文： | 田野的走兽向你发喘。因为溪水乾涸，火也烧灭旷野的草场。 |
| 英文： | The beasts of the field cry also unto thee: for the rivers of waters are dried up, and the fire hath devoured the pastures of the wilderness. |
