| 英文： | Let that day be darkness; let not God regard it from above, neither let the light shine upon it. |

| 英文： | Let darkness and the shadow of death stain it; let a cloud dwell upon it; let the blackness of the day terrify it. |

| 中文： | 愿那夜被幽暗夺取，不在年中的日子同乐，也不入月中的数目。 |
| 英文： | As for that night, let darkness seize upon it; let it not be joined unto the days of the year, let it not come into the number of the months. |

| 英文： | Lo, let that night be solitary, let no joyful voice come therein. |

| 中文： | 愿那咒诅日子且能惹动鳄鱼的，咒诅那夜。 |
| 英文： | Let them curse it that curse the day, who are ready to raise up their mourning. |

| 中文： | 愿那夜黎明的星宿变为黑暗，盼亮却不亮，也不见早晨的光线（光线原文作眼皮）。 |
| 英文： | Let the stars of the twilight thereof be dark; let it look for light, but have none; neither let it see the dawning of the day: |

| 中文： | 因没有把怀我胎的门关闭，也没有将患难对我的眼隐藏。 |
| 英文： | Because it shut not up the doors of my mother's womb, nor hid sorrow from mine eyes. |

| 英文： | Why died I not from the womb? why did I not give up the ghost when I came out of the belly? |

| 中文： | 为何有膝接收我。为何有奶哺养我。 |
| 英文： | Why did the knees prevent me? or why the breasts that I should suck? |

| 中文： | 不然，我就早已躺卧安睡。 |
| 英文： | For now should I have lain still and been quiet, I should have slept: then had I been at rest, |

| 中文： | 和地上为自己重造荒邱的君王，谋士。 |
| 英文： | With kings and counsellors of the earth, which built desolate places for themselves; |

| 中文： | 或与有金子，将银子装满了房屋的王子一同安息。 |
| 英文： | Or with princes that had gold, who filled their houses with silver: |

| 中文： | 或像隐而未现，不到期而落的胎，归于无有，如同未见光的婴孩。 |
| 英文： | Or as an hidden untimely birth I had not been; as infants which never saw light. |

| 中文： | 在那里恶人止息搅扰，困乏人得享安息。 |
| 英文： | There the wicked cease from troubling; and there the weary be at rest. |

| 中文： | 被囚的人同得安逸，不听见督工的声音。 |
| 英文： | There the prisoners rest together; they hear not the voice of the oppressor. |

| 中文： | 大小都在那里。奴仆脱离主人的辖制。 |
| 英文： | The small and great are there; and the servant is free from his master. |

| 中文： | 受患难的人，为何有光赐给他呢。心中愁苦的人，为何有生命赐给他呢。 |
| 英文： | Wherefore is light given to him that is in misery, and life unto the bitter in soul; |

| 中文： | 他们切望死，却不得死。求死，胜于求隐藏的珍宝。 |
| 英文： | Which long for death, but it cometh not; and dig for it more than for hid treasures; |

| 中文： | 他们寻见坟墓就快乐，极其欢喜。 |
| 英文： | Which rejoice exceedingly, and are glad, when they can find the grave? |

| 中文： | 人的道路既然遮隐，神又把他四面围困，为何有光赐给他呢。 |
| 英文： | Why is light given to a man whose way is hid, and whom God hath hedged in? |

| 中文： | 我未曾吃饭就发出叹息。我唉哼的声音涌出如水。 |
| 英文： | For my sighing cometh before I eat, and my roarings are poured out like the waters. |

| 中文： | 因我所恐惧的临到我身，我所惧怕的迎我而来。 |
| 英文： | For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me. |

| 中文： | 我不得安逸，不得平静，也不得安息，却有患难来到。 |
| 英文： | I was not in safety, neither had I rest, neither was I quiet; yet trouble came. |
