英文: | Should not the multitude of words be answered? and should a man full of talk be justified? |

中文: | 你夸大的话,岂能使人不作声吗ⅶ你戏笑的时候,岂没有人叫你害羞吗。 |
英文: | Should thy lies make men hold their peace? and when thou mockest, shall no man make thee ashamed? |
第4段 | |
中文: | 你说,我的道理纯全,我在你眼前洁净。 |
英文: | For thou hast said, My doctrine is pure, and I am clean in thine eyes. |
第5段 | |
中文: | 惟愿神说话,愿他开口攻击你。 |
英文: | But oh that God would speak, and open his lips against thee; |
第6段 | |
中文: | 并将智慧的奥秘指示你,他有诸般的智识。所以当知道神追讨你,比你罪孽该得的还少。 |
英文: | And that he would shew thee the secrets of wisdom, that they are double to that which is! Know therefore that God exacteth of thee less than thine iniquity deserveth. |

英文: | Canst thou by searching find out God? canst thou find out the Almighty unto perfection? |

中文: | 他的智慧高于天,你还能做什么。深于阴间,你还能知道什么。 |
英文: | It is as high as heaven; what canst thou do? deeper than hell; what canst thou know? |

中文: | 其量比地长,比海宽。 |
英文: | The measure thereof is longer than the earth, and broader than the sea. |

中文: | 他若经过,将人拘禁,招人受审,谁能阻挡他呢。 |
英文: | If he cut off, and shut up, or gather together, then who can hinder him? |
第11段 | |
中文: | 他本知道虚妄的人。人的罪孽,他虽不留意,还是无所不见。 |
英文: | For he knoweth vain men: he seeth wickedness also; will he not then consider it? |
第12段 | |
中文: | 空虚的人却毫无知识。人生在世好像野驴的驹子。 |
英文: | For vain man would be wise, though man be born like a wild ass's colt. |

中文: | 你若将心安正,又向主举手。 |
英文: | If thou prepare thine heart, and stretch out thine hands toward him; |
第14段 | |
中文: | 你手里若有罪孽,就当远远地除掉,也不容非义住在你帐棚之中。 |
英文: | If iniquity be in thine hand, put it far away, and let not wickedness dwell in thy tabernacles. |
第15段 | |
中文: | 那时,你必仰起脸来毫无斑点。你也必坚固,无所惧怕。 |
英文: | For then shalt thou lift up thy face without spot; yea, thou shalt be stedfast, and shalt not fear: |
第16段 | |
中文: | 你必忘记你的苦楚,就是想起也如流过去的水一样。 |
英文: | Because thou shalt forget thy misery, and remember it as waters that pass away: |

中文: | 你在世的日子要比正午更明,虽有黑暗仍像早晨。 |
英文: | And thine age shall be clearer than the noonday: thou shalt shine forth, thou shalt be as the morning. |
第18段 | |
中文: | 你因有指望就必稳固,也必四围巡查,坦然安息。 |
英文: | And thou shalt be secure, because there is hope; yea, thou shalt dig about thee, and thou shalt take thy rest in safety. |

中文: | 你躺卧,无人惊吓,且有许多人向你求恩。 |
英文: | Also thou shalt lie down, and none shall make thee afraid; yea, many shall make suit unto thee. |
第20段 | |
中文: | 但恶人的眼目必要失明。他们无路可逃。他们的指望就是气绝。 |
英文: | But the eyes of the wicked shall fail, and they shall not escape, and their hope shall be as the giving up of the ghost. |
